A Bit About Our Founder
At the Helm: Christopher Mills' Harmonious Symphony of Beer, Beats, and Benevolence

In the dynamic rhythms of Long Island's daily life, there's a beat that stands out - it’s the rhythm of Christopher Mills. Mills, a man of many talents - a former rapper, an ardent community volunteer, and a successful entrepreneur - represents the pulsating heartbeat of his community. His life is a riveting composition, blending the legacy of his family, his passion for environmental conservation, and an unwavering commitment to his community.

The legacy of the Mills family runs deep. Christopher's grandfather, Randy Mills, was an avid shark tagger in the 1960s, tracking migratory patterns and contributing to the scientific understanding of these elusive creatures off Long Island's coast. This passion for marine life trickled down to Christopher, influencing one of his most exciting ventures.

In 2022, Christopher launched the Jones Beach Brewing Co. (JBBC), inspired by Long Island's rich maritime tradition. The brewery's symbol, the horseshoe crab - a resilient creature that has thrived amidst environmental changes for millions of years - encapsulates the very spirit of the venture. Just as his grandfather charted the migratory paths of sharks, Christopher cleverly incorporated tide charts into the brewery's packaging, serving as a unique tool for boaters.

But the launch of JBBC was not without its challenges. The dream took four years to materialize, with the global pandemic throwing a wrench in the works. Christopher navigated these hurdles with the same resilience his ancestors displayed, creating a brewery that celebrates the spirit of Long Island's working class, parks, beaches, and marine life.

The same spirit also pulsates in Christopher's work at 1-800-Flowers and his community service. When Hurricane Sandy ravaged Long Island, Christopher's music group stood up for their town, turning despair into resilience. His commitment to giving back didn't stop there. As a volunteer at Smile Farms, Christopher created opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities, earning the title of 2020 Volunteer of the Year. from the Long Island Business News.

Christopher's dedication to the community extends to his support for causes like Athletes Against Cancer and Operation Splash. These initiatives, alongside his commitment to the environment, are echoed in JBBC's brew labels, featuring golf scorecards as a nod to his father and brother's love for the sport.
Now, Christopher has set his sights on Florida, aiming to extend JBBC's footprint and bring the spirit of Long Island to new shores. This expansion embodies the adaptability and ambition that the Mills family, and indeed Christopher himself, are known for.
In the grand tapestry of Christopher Mills' life, the threads of his family legacy, love for the environment, and community service intertwine to create an extraordinary narrative. He is a testament to the power of passion, resilience, and community spirit, a man who turned the high tides of life into an opportunity to make a difference. With the beat of his journey continuing to resonate, Christopher's symphony is far from its final note.
